History of Sannaka

Sannaka-JAPAN was founded in 1970 in Takamatsu Japan. Around that time, mass-produced furniture became the mainstreamin the furniture industry, and the traditional method of producing furniture by experienced craftsmen became the exception. With ourappreciation for Japanese history and tradition and passion for furniture, sannaka-JAPAN was established as a wholesale store.
After gaining 45 years of experience in Japan, we proudly opened our first showroom, Sannaka-WEST, in Honolulu, Hawaii outside of Japan in 2005 with the hope of introducing and sharing our culture and tradition to western society. We provide the highest quality authentic Japanese furniture and customer service to satisfy our customers.
We manufacture everything ourselves from start to finish at our Takamatsu, Japan factory.
By our knowledgeable and skilled craftsmen, all the materials are collected and stored to be completely dried, then milled to the correct specification. All pieces are then built by hand using traditional Japanese techniques. We respect and follow the venerated tradition and would like to hand on the torch in this society where the tradition gradually die out.
In Japan, our work is highly valued and we have received several achievement awards and prizes such as:

Japanese Furniture wholesale union award (Mar. 1999)
Chairperson award in national furniture design contest (Feb. 1985)

Also we have worked for people from not only our region but all over Japan. We have
supplied our products to temples, teahouses, hotels, restaurants, company facilities, and regular houses.

We offer the highest quality Japanese furniture and interior products.
Our sales staff will show you the best products available for you to select.
We accept custom order for many products line.
